This is very noticeable in any app if you're using 'Spaces'. Not only
do you lose focus, but you often get shifted to a different
workspace. The current app remains as the current app, but its
windows are then in a different Space. iCal can trigger this, but so
can Carbon Copy Cloner. CCC tends not to take focus when you plug a
clone destination drive in, and you need to Ok a copy - you have to
hunt for which space it came up in; but when the copy finishes it
always grabs focus to a window that it is closing. If that was in a
different Space you get switched there and left wondering why. Took a
while to realise what was going on. I doubt that this is CCC's fault.
Apple haven't really got Spaces sorted out yet, but some of it's
problems are wider reaching as this thread shows.
