Hello,
I am planning to install in the next weeks Snow Leopard on

Since you are installing SL rather than Lion, I assume you
are on a ppc or 32bit intel machine and thus will be on SL
for the long haul. It might be wise to plan for the eventuality
that new versions of X11 won't be available for you from
XQuartz at some point in the future and use this opportunity
to get on MacPorts.
The above implies that Snow Leopard can be installed on
a PPC system. It is my understanding (as someone who
still makes regular use of several Mac PPC computers) that
Leopard (10.5.8) is the final version of Mac OSeX that will
support and run on PPC systems.
Macbooks are the first generation of the Apple's intel based
laptops, so not an issue for Pierre, but something that needed
clarification.
