Hi,
I have a problem wich involves Apple X11, XQuartz and launchd. I recently by mistake messed up with the X11 installation (on Snow Leopard) by deleting some files. I used Time Machine to restore these files, and I thought it would be good to restart from fresh, so I also removed XQuartz following the procedures given on the following page:
http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/X11-UsersFAQ
Then I redownloaded XQuartz, reinstalled, rebooted. But now when I start anything requiring X, Apple X11 is launched instead of XQuartz. I tried the following but I get an error:
bash> launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.macosforge.xquartz.startx.plist
org.macosforge.xquartz.startx: Already loaded
Also it seems that my DISPLAY is set to use Apple X11:
bash> echo $DISPLAY
/tmp/launch-pE1sBA/org.x:0
I created a new clean user and did the same:
bash> echo $DISPLAY
/tmp/launch-h6ddMU/org.macosforge.xquartz:0
Clearly it seems that there is something wrong with launchd on my account. Does someone know how to reset everything so that XQuartz is used by default?
Thanks a lot in advance,
