Nope. Still greyed out. I just quit X11 and then did an "xemacs" in Terminal to get it started again.
One difference is that I have the firewall turned on on my Mac Book, while I don't on my Mac Pro. Do I need to drop X11 into the list of apps that "Allow incoming connections"? I see that other software that use Sparkle and that I've successfully upgraded are in that list. Does successful upgrading need an incoming connection?
