I did that, and 2.6.3 shows the menu option enabled, and it works (it just offered me 2.7.0_rc1). So whatever was wrong got fixed somehow. And the installation to 2.7.0_rc1 worked correctly, and it also shows an enabled "Check for X11 updates..."
