The original poster (in the link) reported that this happened on Snow Leopard as well.
I recall someone reporting this on the list sometime in the past couple months, but that thread died down. The reporter said that the existing connections still worked. Is that the same for you (ie: if you have an xterm open, it stays open and responsive, but you can't create a new one)? If that's the case, this has nothing to do with X11 and is probably a bug in sshd on the remote machine.
