Where are you getting your wine build from?
What libGL are you using with wine? Are you using libGL from MacPorts (/opt/local/lib/libGL.dylib), OS X (/usr/X11/lib/libGL.dylib), or XQuartz (/opt/X11/lib/libGL.dylib)?
Does the issue occur if you use X11.app instead of XQuartz.app?
The failing request is X_AppleDRICreateSurface ... does 'glxgears' work (when it is using the same libGL)?
