I checked out the tag "mesa-8.0.2" into a new branch, and then cherry-picked bb30e76328e9dd80b0c7a7688828e3cf8e662b1b, 6095a17534c2694760300701fee59a320950f271 and 69d8a25d429bccf960e98e5c126e1ef2ae4ffe9d

The Anarchy Online settings dialog indeed works fine with that branch, but the fix seems to be a bit of a hack :) (because of the while loop)
