I'm curious what you mean when you say that the window doesn't have focus. Does it receive keyboard events? What is the state of its titlebar? Is another X11 window's titlebar active? Is another X11 window receiving the events? Is XQuartz actually the frontmost application (based on "X11" appearing in the menubar)?

Hi All,
I upgraded to Mountain Lion and am running the latest production (2.7.3)
XQuartz. I've got a random, but frequent problem that happens at least
5-10 times a day, and I'm sorry to say it's not reproducible.
This is the problem:
My most used X client is an xterm. Often I'll have anywhere from 3-7
xterms open at a given time. If I'm using a non-X client, like Firefox
and click in an xterm to start using it, the click doesn't give the
xterm cursor focus. If I do it a second time, it works.
It *seems* to happen more often when a longer time has elapsed and I
have used any X clients, but I can't be sure.
I have all checkboxes ticked in the X11 "Pasteboard" preferences, and
have "Click-though Inactive Windows" and "Focus On New Windows" ticked
in the X11 "Windows" preferences.
I've look through all of the mailing list archives and open bugs, and
it seems to be related to ticket #636, but is not exactly the same.
Anyone else having this problem. Is there any additional information
I can provide or capture that will help?
TIA,
Doug
