Ok, after going through the entire (I think) listing for "focus lost
issue", I think I've tried just about everything I was able to pull out
of it. I found a post where the poster believed that X11 losing focus
was caused by apps that have LSUIElement set to true in their Info.plist.
So, using the path that another poster asked about, I did an fgrep for
LSUIElement in /Applications/*/Contents/Info.plist, and got the
following:
Dashboard.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
DivX Converter.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
Dropbox.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
Google Earth.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
Launchpad.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
Meteorologist.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
Mission Control.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
Time Machine.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
avidemux2.app/Contents/Info.plist: <key>LSUIElement</key>
I looked in Dashboard.app, and found
<key>LSUIElement</key>
<string>1</string>
Is this telling me that Dashboard.app might be a problem? And if so,
should I do the same check with the other ones? And what would I do
:from there?
I have no idea whether or not this matters, but I have the systems
preferences option to make Dashboard another workspace turned off.
I have absolutely no use for the Dashboard.
If this doesn't lead to something, I'm going to need more help, because
I've been getting more confused every time I open another post in that
thread (well, almost every time). For Macs, I'm a Unix guy...the Mac
side (at this level) confuses the hell out of me.
And I'm going to have to put the keyboard away until tomorrow morning,
as my left wrist, which a doc says probably has RSI, is starting to
scream with every key I hit on the QWERTY row or above.
Thanks,
