Hi Sam!
That works a treat also, many thanks!
From a user's point of view, they should really put in a 'go to path'
button in those type of dialogs - it's not obvious that typing the path
(where there is no indication that doing so will take you to the path)
will work. Of course, there is the possibility of me being a bit of a
dunce when it comes to using UI's... :oP
Regards,
Jose.

In fact, if you just start typing the path immediately after the open
panel appears, it will drop down the "Go to" sheet for you without
having to hit cmd-shift-G.

From a fresh Xcode project, I can't seem to add /usr/lib/libz.dylib
among others. With Project Builder, despite the 'add frameworks...'
file browser only showing the 'non-root' filesystem, it allowed you
to
type the path, so typing /usr/ would actually get you in there and
allow you to include the blighters. No go with Xcode - has anyone
found a way to do this, or are we talking another 'feature'?
This is a feature of Panther's open panel - pressing Command-Shift-G
will
bring up a sheet allowing you to type in /usr/lib.
This shortcut is actually documented in Mac Help - search it for
"shortcuts
for dialogs".
Cheers,
Chris

A conclusion is simply the place where you got tired of thinking.
