Muchos thanks - your tip solved the issue!

Odd choice to remove it from Xcode - I can see the reason why for a regular user it may simplify the dialog (although if that user wanted to type a path they'd either have to accept it's gone or search help with terms that may not match) - for developers with admin priviliges it should have the option for a full directory display like BBEdit - but then, BBEdit is the equivalent of a diety in developer terms :o)

Regards, Jose.

From a fresh Xcode project, I can't seem to add /usr/lib/libz.dylib
among others. With Project Builder, despite the 'add frameworks...'
file browser only showing the 'non-root' filesystem, it allowed you to
type the path, so typing /usr/ would actually get you in there and
allow you to include the blighters. No go with Xcode - has anyone
found a way to do this, or are we talking another 'feature'?

This is a feature of Panther's open panel - pressing Command-Shift-G will
bring up a sheet allowing you to type in /usr/lib.

This shortcut is actually documented in Mac Help - search it for "shortcuts
for dialogs".

Cheers,

Chris
