Well, I'll now take that back.

For reasons I cannot understand, linking to libcrypto.0.9 is now trashing
memory in EVP_VerifyInit and EVP_VerifyUpdate when built AND run under
Panther.  The very same executable was working fine last night.
Relinking with 0.9.7 works.  I haven't tested today yet under Jaguar.

What the hell is going on here...
