XCode inserts images into nib?

  • Subject: XCode inserts images into nib?

I'm not labeling this as a bug because I just started moving from .rsrc files to nibs (at 10.3, I think it's time to give up resedit.) -- so there might be something I don't know. I started with something simple, a menu bar. Works fine.

I went to edit the nib to add some more menus, and lo and behold, it's got a couple of new graphics, and a mysterious automatic "about box" I can't find anywhere in the nib, itself. These graphics came from the application (one from a resource, on from a icns file.)

Weird. Is this supposed to happen? I put in the nib file as a project file to make it work. Maybe I'm missing something easy, but it somehow managed to grab images from my compiled application!

Nothing breaks -- it's a bit heavier, though.
