In my haste to fire off a warning, I did in fact post specific
information I didn't intend to. I immediately realized my mistake; I
was also promptly and sternly scolded later, quite appropriately, by
Apple. ;)
I simply meant to offer a reminder to only run seeds on non-critical
data and non-production computers, as of course is plainly stated in
every NDA agreement (and if you have not yet surmised, the reason for
my post was due to the fact that in my excitement, I unfortunately
disregarded that "step" this time). Something wasn't jiving in my
computer's setup, and my app ate itself. Well. Luckily, I back up
every night.
Developers if you want a better xCode please give seeds a try! By
doing so you help Apple shake out the bugs and enhance things,
assuming you of course file bugs about what you find (Shaun did ya?).
I concur. (And yes... I file bugs whenever I find them). I was
already in a discussion of my issues thru
email@hidden at the time; I really don't remember
what compelled me to post that message in the first place (?). Xcode
is already an excellent product, and the guys on the Xcode team are
making amazing advances with each new release.
Of course ALWAYS read the release notes before installing any such
seed and take any actions recommended and possibly make an archive of
your system if you feel it is needed.
_Always!_ make backups before trying anything unknown! You'd think,
"once bitten, twice shy", but some of us will still reach out and touch
the electric fence to see if it's turned on...
