OK, if remote pserver is supported, how do I get this working? ;-(

You told me before to add the XCode project file (= folder) to the repository, the project file should have a CVS-folder inside it to tell XCode where to find the server. This folder is in the file and seems correct.

When I enable CVS-integration in XCode, a sheet asks me to enter my CVS-password. In this window the correct IP-adress of the remote server is displayed. However, after entering my password, I always get the message "login failed".

Using the same name/password in the CVS-command line tool does work.

So, it seems the pserver is found, but login fails.
What am I missing here???

Oh, sorry. Yes, pserver is definitely supported.

I am not using SSH, I am using pserver to access the repository. As
far as I know XCode does support remote pserver access?

Xcode doesn't support accessing CVS over SSH via passwords, we only
support the use of public key passphrases.

I'm using the "normal" OSX passwords.

Hi Steve,

My project file (= folder) is under CVS control and in the
repository.
Using MacCVS Pro or the command line works fine. I can perform all
CVS
actions on the project file using those applications, but when I
start
my project in XCode and make sure CVS-integration is enabled, a
window
comes up, asking me to enter my password.

In this window the correct IP-adress of the CVS-server is
displayed,
even the correct username for the CVS-server is displayed. But
entering the password always results in the error "login failed".
Using the same name / password in the command line CVS-tool works
fine.

Are you using public-key passphrases to access your CVS repository?

When I enable the CVS-integration in the project-settings, there's a button "edit". Clicking that will bring up a new sheet "Use ssh instead of rsh for external connections".

Does XCode support external pservers? Or should I change my
CVS-server
to use ssh instead of a pserver?

This checkbox is used to distinguish between rsh and ssh connections
(CVS labels both with ext:).

Do you mean I have to do a checkout on the CVSRoot in the
project-file-package? (I understand the project file is a
folder.)

No. What I think your situation is (could be wrong) is that you have a project in CVS but your Xcode project "file" is not in CVS. If that's the case and you want to use the CVS integration, you have two choices:
