Using SCM: "Unable to Save Project"

Greetings:
1) I got CVS up & running {Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11.15 (client/server)}.
2) I did an initial import & check-out: got CVS folder in Project Folder.
3) I see CVS stuff under 'Get Info' of Project.

So...

4) I tried to build/run this (checked-out) project and got the "Unable to Save Project" alert.
5) If I make any changes, I get an alert warning that this particular file is NOT writable.

Question: how can I change either CVS or current Project to allow myself to SAVE whenever I rebuild?

I want to work with CVS seamlessly, without the hassle of locked stuff.

Thanks in advance...

Ric.
