I am getting the following exception when I first launched xcode or
subsequent launches when I attempt to view the release notes or pages
in the documentation window. Any ideas?
I will look for a possible font issue in the short term.
Played some with fonts (enabled/disabled) and still no luck so far.
However it only happens when I attempt to view the release notes
(Help->"Show Release Notes") and once the exception happens I cannot
view any other HTML based content (at least I haven't found any). If I
don't view the release notes I can view other HTML content without
issue ("Show Older Release Notes" works as does developer
documentation window content).
If I try to open the release notes [1] in Safari it displays nothing
(and Safari stops displaying any other HTML content) but if I use
Internet Explorer it displays fine.
Bingo I found a corrupted version of the Times font installed under
/Library/Fonts/ (named "Times RO" ) and after disabling that one font
using font book things now work. Have no idea at the moment why I have
"RO" fonts in my /Library/Fonts/ folder or why that particular font was
corrupted (displays funky in Font Book).
Anyway I am happy again... now off to play with my new developer toys.
