I used to experience the same issue with a two displays settings. The main display uses a ATI Rage 9000 and the secondary display was using an ATI Rage 7000 PCI Mac Edition.

I filed bug reports on this issue maybe one year ago. I've been told since it was a bug in the ATI Driver. The system.log file is clearly indicating the issue is coming from the ATI Driver.

Then you probably don't have quite the same bug... Interesting.

So it's not linked to Xcode.

No indeed. I managed to get it using FCP (for 4.1 to 4.5), Shake, Quicktime, Blender, and Maya.
