Is anyone else seeing anything like this? It's really weird.
Yes, I do have the same kind of problem. However it only occurs on a
dual processor with two screens here. Whenever I switch back to mono,
or if I unplug the second monitor, the problem seems to vanish.
Probably a race condition leading to a deadlock...
For my part, I found a more or less reliable way to reproduce it. It
seems to occur faster with an OpenGL application.
Grab the "Red Rocket" sample project in the 3D section.
Launch the application.
Configure the keys.
Go forward and maintain the course. If you want you can play around...
the thing is to force the window to be constantly updated.
Usually the freeze occurs one to two minutes later.
I'd be happy to hear about anyone successfully reproducing that one
systematically...
I used to experience the same issue with a two displays settings. The
main display uses a ATI Rage 9000 and the secondary display was using
an ATI Rage 7000 PCI Mac Edition.
Removing the ATI Rage 7000 solved the issue.
I filed bug reports on this issue maybe one year ago. I've been told
since it was a bug in the ATI Driver. The system.log file is clearly
indicating the issue is coming from the ATI Driver.
So it's not linked to Xcode.
