Well, I'm an old CodeWarrior user, so single window mode always made me feel like I was wearing a straight-jacket - I am good at using the window stacking order to manage screen real-estate...

But fortunately for you, I work on gdb ;-)

So, basically get back what we had in PB - yes, that would be good! :)

The return of more of the single-window-mode features that's missing in action since the upgrade / switch to Xcode would be much appreciated - something that you might consider for some future version of Xcode.

(I never liked the drawer, but could live with using the separate window.)

Would it serve your purposes if it wasn't a drawer but a splitter in the debug window? It was odd to have it a drawer, 'cause Xcode doesn't really use drawers anywhere else (the one other use I remember in the Build Settings window was also removed in 1.5).

One of the things that ticked me off about the drawer was the whole maximize the debug window to see lots of stuff in the source or variable view, open the drawer, oops, make the window smaller to be able to see the drawer then resize the drawer, then have to close the drawer and maximize the window again to see lots of stuff two-step I always ended up doing.

If it were a splitter, you could close it and the pane above would automatically get it's real-estate, which might make this a little nicer.

I talk to lots of folks about the debugger - both engineers at Apple & in kitchens, and very very seldom heard anybody who liked the drawer. OTOH, I heard the opposite opinion, and got hero-boy points on a number of occasions for showing how to get the window version.
