A splitter would be an OK compromise, although I think there ought to be some sort of preference item that toggles between the GDB console being in a window or being in a drawer. (I'm serious; I liked the drawer!) But if the drawer's not coming back, then I think a splitter would be better than the current situation of having two windows for debugging.
