Thanks George...
Looks like I'll put this under source control.
Something to try, just for fun, is to spend the entire day using Xcode,
tweaking various settings so it work 'just right.' Now, do a full
extract, to a new location, and see how that goes... all those little
tweaks you've been making all day are gone. How sad :-(
Or, even better, take your existing source code tree to another system and
login with a different user ID. Again, all of 'your' settings are gone.
More sadness :-(
And to really have some fun, use a version control system that does not
have a native Mac OS X client so you have to identify each file in the
source tree and decide what is important enough to bother checking into
source control. Don't forget to FTP them to a Unix system and take into
account that some of the files need to FTP in Mac Binary...
I'm glad that Xcode is so configurable, but sometimes it gets in the way
of doing real work. I understand you can't help me with the source
control application I have to use, but I'll be submitting a feature
request to see if we can get a simpler way of selecting the configuration
files to use... it's a real PITA to maintain common configurations across
multiple projects, especially when you work on different machines with
different user IDs.
