I remember the article too, it was mentioned very clear that
fix-continue should work without saving. I did not get this working.
But why don't you try it out? Create a very simple app like the one in
the article. Have an object drawn in a window. Debug the app, change
the color of the object, fix-continue without saving and see your
result?
(I did not try this yet.)

It's odd because there was an article in MacTech a few months ago

author demonstrated being able to fix and continue without saving.
