Correct, although the targets will remain as legacy targets until you
manually convert them.
If you're using Xcode 1.1 or later, most of the bugs with native
targets were fixed, so I see no reason to not convert to them. The only
thing I'd recommend turning off is predictive compiling, since it's
caused a lot of problems (freezes on build, weird compiler error
messages) for me and others on this list.
I'm wondering whether I need to recreate my PB projects if I want to
get all the bells and whistles of e.g. fix & continue, zero link, etc.?
No; you just need to convert to native targets.
