While this whould help you to understand writing command line tools, it
won't help you much in creating apps with a graphical user interface.
What would be a good source for tutorials or how-to's with some of the
basic stuff?
A few tutorials and a lot of sample code is installed with Xcode right
on your hard disk. If you already understand some basics of the C
language, this tutorial will be great:
