Obj-C project indexing Java classes

Esteemed colleagues,
I'm writing an Objective-C application which has recently decided that
it needs to index all Java symbols. I don't understand what would cause
this. I'd prefer to avoid it, since on my secondary computer (iBook
800) this takes a long time and is simply of no use to me.
Could it be because I've added some zip files to the project? These are
not .jar files, but only normal archives of source -- I added them to
the project so I could do version control on them, but they aren't part
of any target.
Thanks,
