Hi XCode folks,
NOTE: this is not a complaint - just a comment.
The 'VooDDoo' SCC client/server setup used to work so well for me with
CW.
As a person with limited cranial bandwidth who wishes to keep the
neurons focused on the current problem and not become derailed in
attempting to deal with esoteric details regarding command-line
eccentricities of CVS, my experience was: 'VooDoo' is a delight to work
with.
Unfortunately, there seems to be nothing integral in XCode for SCC
besides the ~$1000 PerForce solution (I hope I got that number
right...) or becoming a CVS convert. The folks in the VooDoo camp
(Unisoftwareplus) would love to tweak their package to support XCode -
but it would seem this has not yet risen to the top of an XCode
'gotta-do' list and there are no hooks with which to attach their
plug-in.
CVS has LOTS going for it - but VooDoo was a marvelously elegant and
transparent solution that has not yet appeared in XCode. I submitted a
bug for this about a year ago - but nothing has come forth.
BTW - The new G5s are now for sale on the Apple site!
