Have you tried any recovery software that rebuilds files from disk
traces? btw "Delete files and references" IMO is pretty clear as to
what it will do, how many dialogue boxes would you need? :o)

Today I learned the hard way how easy it is to delete source files
that are shared between multiple projects. I went to delete some files
from a project that didn't need them and accidently hit the "Delete
references & Files" button instead of the "Delete References" button
and it was bye bye files.
I think Xcode should be a little more forgiving when deleting files,
maybe move them to the trash rather than actually killing them.
Barring that, another possibility would be to word the "Delete
references & Files" button a little more ominously, like "Erase files
from HD" accompanied by a warning dialog that there's no turning back.
