vrsave woes

In GCC 3.3, what are the compiler flags to disable automatic vrsave generation (and more specifically, to eliminate the saveVEC and restVEC function calls). What are the gotchas that might arise by managing these myself? I have some vec functions that make use of all 32 registers, and for smaller data sets, the overhead could add up. When writing any AltiVec functions, I inline all necessary code, and don't call out to other functions inside them.
