From your message, it sounds like you used Xcode's "Launch Using Performance Tool --> MallocDebug" menu item to launch your app; is that correct? What happens if you try to open the /Developer/Applications/Performance Tools/MallocDebug.app directly and launch your app from there?

Also, what versions of Xcode and of Mac OS X are you using?

XCode 1.2, Mac OS X 10.3.3, and I indeed tried to launch my app via the MallocDebug menu item. When I start the MallocDebug app directly and launch (not attach) my app from there, the message which erupts is:


Read Data

Unable to read malloc information from (null)
