Carl,
Here's what the mailing list rules state:
"Excessive profanity or inappropriate language. These lists are
primarily populated by adults, but younger children can have access. We
understand that tempers sometimes flare, but abusive language won't be
tolerated on the list."
Here's a snippet from the final post by your _brother_:
> I know nothing about it, I just want it to work, I don't have the
> time to learn, I looked at the INSTALL directions, did exactly what
> it said to do and it doesn't work, therefore, that app is useless to
> me, I need a simple working solution, not $#@#@$ instructions that

> simple.
I obviously edited out a key word there. The entire tone of the post
is rude and easily is course for banning the user from the list.
Someone might have easily reported the post to the list administrators
and asked that the user be banned.
Furthermore, if they feel like banning someone they can. Too bad.
This is a free service offered by Apple that we should be greatful
exists. If you want to start your own listserv, then go for it.
If other people got away with profanity or bad language, then report
them. Again from the mail list rules:
"If you are using one of our mailing lists and see something you feel
is inappropriate, please report it to the administrator of the list, or
to email@hidden. Do not attempt to deal with the problem
yourself. Only the list administrators have the authority to set policy
on the mailing lists. Individual users may find they may actually get
in trouble for "trying to help". Please help by following the rules,
not by trying to define them."
So, you can go make a list of people that have made posts with
profanity and toss it to the administrator.
If you truly had a reason for being upset, I can understand, but you
disobeyed the rules and were booted. Instead, find a good attitude
somewhere and _politely_ ask that you be unbanned from the list.
