Building an XCode build notify bundle?

I'm investigating building an notification addon for XCode using Growl
<http://growl.info/>
I would like to be notified when a build is complete (and build
success/failure would be nice too ;)
But I'm not sure where to start. I've been searching through the
applescript information for a way to query the build state, but with no
real success so far (admittedly I'm more familiar with C++ than
Applescript).
There is a mail bundle add-on which provides similar functionaliy for
Mail.app (see growlMail) and I've pulled it apart, but does XCode
support similar add-on functionality?
I successfully dumped the XCode headers using
<http://www.codethecode.com/Projects/class-dump/> so I should be able
to work it, if I can get Xcode to load the bundle at runtime.
(I have been suggested to use the command-line growlnotify and
xcodebuild, but I would prefer to integrate it into XCode proper)
Thanks,
Adam
