BBEdit and CodeWarrior both allow you to enter the currently selected

Although
XCode allows you to enter the find string just fine (by using CMD-E),
it

enter
the replace string (in CodeWarrior, it's "CMD-SHIFT-E"). Is there
some way

That feature is sorely lacking in Xcode. I couldn't believe it wasn't
there the first time I looked at Xcode. You could maybe script it with
the scriptable UI, or QuicKeys, but that would be a kludge.
This functionality is a huge time saver for those of us that are used
to it in CodeWarrior and lots of other apps. Sure, the workaround is to
hit command-e to enter the find string, the select the replacement text
and command-c, then command-f, tab, command-v. But doing that means you
lose what's already in the clipboard. Some will say, "just type the
replacement string into the Find window." That's fine if it's a short
string, but we all know how weird source code can be with all the
underscores and uppercase and symbols and whatnot. This feature is
needed in Xcode. I'll go enter a bug now.
