I am glad to have some of my emacs keybindings in Xcode however I

C-s to save my "buffer" in Xcode's text editor.

This inserts invisible characters into my buffer that prevent
compilation requiring me to kill and retype whole lines over again.

I have clumsy modifier-key fingers, and I often manage to insert control characters into my code that prevent compilation. That's why I leave this option on:

Format->Show Control Characters  (XCode 1.5)

You can see them, and delete them, without any retyping of entire lines. Hope that helps!
