I've worked with the whole 'feedback' (bug reporting, feature
suggestions, etc.) of numerous companies, and the main thing that the
users of this service really want is feedback on their
bugs/suggestions/etc. (not canned responses).
Radar seems like a one-way communications mechanism, after we submit
it bug we shouldn't really care anymore.
For example, I submitted a bug in QuickTime/Quartz rendering, it was
simply closed and when I queried them further they just said that it
had been forwarded to the appropriate engineering team. I had to push
them even more to get them to say that "a resolution [...] may be
considered in a future release."
I doubt anyone here has used Microsoft's MSDN Product Feedback Centre,
but it's a great example of an open bug/suggestion reporting and
tracking system that actually works.
