OpenGL profiling

  • Subject: OpenGL profiling

Hi there,

I have an app that *appears* to be exhausting OpenGL resource on an iBook, while working fine on a Dual G4. I was hoping that someone might be able to offer a few pointers on what to look for either using OpenGL Driver Monitor or OpenGL Profiler (or anything else!) to confirm my theory. My theory is that I'm exhausting the graphic card's 8MB video memory on the iBook (my Dual G4 has 64MB of video memory).

When I display my window at 1024x512 on the iBook, I get my desktop background image mirrored in my window (!!). If I shrink the window then my image renders ok. All is well at 1024x512 on my Dual G4.

If I turn off the depth buffer tests then rendering also occurs ok (apart from light shading problems given no depth buffering).

Thanks for any help.

Kind regards,
Christopher
