Problems compiling C++

We have a C project that compiles fine. We have added a couple of pieces of C++ code and it seems that xCode complains about :

- it refuses "default parameters" in function prototypes
- it refuses passing parameters by reference (&...)

Is there any configuration to set up in xCode in order to help recognize these C++ stuff ?
