Hi Terry,
I can give you a few general answers. I've added Syd, who might have
more specific answers.
Currently we have some Xcode v1.2 based projects (some with JAM based
targets, others with native targets), most not being built through XBS
currently (long story).
1) If we upgrade our development environment to Xcode v1.5, will any
v1.2
projects opened by v1.5 remain backwards compatible with v1.2, and
more
importantly be able to be built in a Panther based build train by B&I?
I don't know. Syd?
You should ask xcode-users. I have added them to the CC list.
2) Is a Tiger based build train required to build Xcode projects that
have
native targets? Or can we use a Panther based build train?
Stock Panther cannot reliably build native targets. Panther plus a
Muon update should be able to build native targets. Note that the
Panther-based Software Update and CPU build trains use stock Panther,
not Panther plus Muon, so using native targets in projects submitted
to that train is not an option. If your projects build in their own
build train, or in another build train where Muon is allowed, then you
should be able to submit projects with native targets.
3) Does B&I yet support building Xcode projects that have native
targets
AND have shell script phases? If so, will it require a Tiger based
build
train?
This is really an XCode question, not an XBS question. Syd?
Once again, this is a question for xcode-users.

I'm sure I will have more questions - feel free to take this to a
smaller
list of people than the whole xbuild mailing list.
