SCM does not have to be ....... hard.

Once again, the powered-bees at Apple are implored to - PLEASE - provide and publish the hooks for SCM to allow companies such as UniSoftwarePlus (REF LINK: http://www.unisoftwareplus.com/products/voodooserver/index.html) to implement their VooDoo plug-in for XCode. It worked so well with CodeWarrior, it's mature, these folks are pros, and it would relieve many people from having to take the time-consuming sidebar excursion into CVS - the implementation/integration of which is so non-Mac-like.

A bug has been submitted by me (#3483103, 13-Nov-2003) on this point and it's understandable how, because there were so many major features of the basic IDE which had to be developed, that the priority for this capability may have been perceived as belonging way down on the list. But now is a good time to toss out the duct-tape and coat-hanger approach to SCM for XCode projects and make it possible for SCM to be integrated into the normal flow of development activities. The ability to support the VooDoo plug-in would absolutely provide this feature.

If you are of a similar mind, perhaps you'll consider filing a bugreport feature-request - as this would help raise the visibility of this issue for when XCode project managers decide what gets into the schedule.
