I reported the bug (id 3750183) on August 4. The bug still states
"Open/Analyze"
Don't expect anything besides this and "Closed".
The problem is, fixes always go into code to be released in the future.
That's obvious. For Apple insiders, it appears to be quite risky to
talk about future releases to the outside.
Company policy, this might be why they appear so calm.
If you get a "Closed/Duplicate", there's either a real duplicate or
some engineer duplicated the bug to get you, ahem, to get you out of
discussion. Enabling him to talk more freely about that future release
internally.
If you did something wrong, I experienced very quick responses
requesting additional information or pointing me to the feature I've
overlooked.
If you don't hear anything, that's usually a good sign. When the fixed
software is released, you'll get a request to re-verify the bug.
Not quite encouraging but there you go.
Markus
P.S.: If you don't like this behaviour, file an enhancement request at
..., well, at <http://bugreport.apple.com>.
