My repository users are granted write and execute permissions. Moreover I don't get the error message at the beginning of import but halfway!

I installed Subversion according to the guidelines given by the ADC's "Using Subversion" web page. It worked well until it came to import my project which leads to the following error message:
svn: Can't open '/svnrep/db/current.tmp': Permission denied


I've played with svnrep privileges but couldn't get svn import to work!

Any ideas please?

Note 1: I use MacOS 10.4.2, Xcode 2.1 and subversion 1.2.1_0 installed via DarwinPorts.
