Thanks to all who responded to my issue - looks like a tech glitch was responsible. Ive since updated that Macintosh to Xcode 2.2 and the problem has gone away....I had thought that the prompt (coming from Sfw Update ?) "update to new version of Developer tools ?" - wouldve put the newest version of *all Developer related * tools in the Developer folder - but I guess it doesnt. It seems the motif is you just grab individual downloads off of ADC as needed, there isnt one core "Developer download" to which the basic documentation/apps/ utils are resident ?

Like I said, Im pretty new to programming so, apologies due to the list for tolerating such basic questions...
