I am new to the Macintosh, having just bought a Mini Mac.
I am trying to get Xcode working with Java. Specifically I cannot get
Xcode to auto-complete, even though the release notes for Xcode 1.5 say that it
will auto-complete Java code.
Xcode with Java works fine in that I can build programs, but
I cannot get auto-complete to work. I have downloaded the 1.4.2 Javadoc
from Sun’s web site; however, I am not sure either where to put Javadoc
or how to configure Xcode to enable auto-complete.
I have been able to get the Javadoc working with netBeans;
however, Xcode looks like a better product for Macintosh development,
especially if I would look into Cocoa-Java development.
I understand that a “real developer” would not
use auto-complete, but I am moving from C# to Java, and the languages are so
similar that I often get the method names confused and auto-complete is really
useful.
I would greatly appreciate it if I could found out:
1.) Does Xcode 1.5 come with Javadoc out-of-the-box,
or specifically directly from the Mini Mac OS X install DVD?
2.) If one does need to configure Xcode to do
auto-completion for Java, how does one do that?
3.) If one does need to download Javadoc, where does
it go?
Thanks in advance!
