Yep, that's the overzealous external editor support in action :(

We're aware of the problem and would like to fix the bug in a future release. Please file a bug, though, since duplicate bugs on an issue are meaningful.

Today Xcode asked me if I wanted to save a file before quitting. But

It was open with unsaved changes in TextWrangler.

I don't have Xcode configured to use external editors for anything,
ever. I had opened this file in TextWrangler, and although Xcode was
running at the time, it wasn't involved with the file in any way.

Why did Xcode even know that the file was open? And why did it care
whether there were unsaved changes?

This is with Xcode 1.5 on 10.3.8, TextWrangler 2.0.
