Unexpected Xcode / TextWrangler communication?

  • Subject: Unexpected Xcode / TextWrangler communication?

Today Xcode asked me if I wanted to save a file before quitting. But
the file it was asking about wasn't even open-- not in Xcode, anyway.
It was open with unsaved changes in TextWrangler.

I don't have Xcode configured to use external editors for anything,
ever. I had opened this file in TextWrangler, and although Xcode was
running at the time, it wasn't involved with the file in any way.

Why did Xcode even know that the file was open? And why did it care
whether there were unsaved changes?

This is with Xcode 1.5 on 10.3.8, TextWrangler 2.0.
