I occasionally use the Calculator app for development work - nice hex /
ascii / unicode display features, etc.
BUT, I was just exploring numerical accuracy with large numbers and hit
a bug...
Type in 100 and click 10^x button. Result is 1e+100
Type in 150 and click 10^x button. Result is 1.84467440737e+146
Type in 160 and click 10^x button. Result is 1.84467440737e+146
Type in 200 and click 10^x button. Result is 1e+200
But taking log of the apparently incorrect results returns the correct
values (150 and 160).
So something's going wrong with the display of large numerical values.
Sorry for off-topic post, but I know there are some Apple developers
listening.
