I ordered a single Mac Mini to do some more accurate benchmarking for
build times prior to comitting to a larger purchase. The online store is
currently quoting 3-4 weeks lead time before the machine will ship. So
it'll be some time before I can post any comparitive numbers against my
original post. If folk here have numbers they can give sooner - it seems
like there are some that'd appreciate it.
I still haven't found a solid answer to the drive speed question. I've
seen reports of 4200 RPM but also a report that the Mini uses a Seagate
Momentus mechanism which (according to Seagate) is a 5400 RPM drive.
Apple System Profiler should (I think) be definitive ?
Many thanks
