Using gdb in Xcode

  • Subject: Using gdb in Xcode

I would like to be able to use Xcode and its GUI for GDB for executables that have not been built using Xcode, but rather "make".

I created a new Xcode project,
added an "New custom executable", specifying the path for the executable.
Added the source files to the project.
Set a breakpoint at an arbitrary location.
Launche the "Debug executable" function.

And I get the message
No source file named breakpointSourceFile.c

If I use the GDB command "list" I get :
No symbol table is loaded.

Anybody can help ?
