Compile switches vs assembler

Is there a way to turn off the debug -g switch for assembler files (.s)
but leave it on for C (.c/.m etc)?

I'm using a Pascal compiler to produce the assembler source, and if both
the compiler and assembler use -g, the debugger goes wacko so that the
source lines lose synch with the object being debugged.

If I turn off the -g switch for the target, I can debug in the Pascal
code fine but then my C/objective-C files can't be debugged.

So, does anybody know how to turn off -g for the assembler while leaving
it on for C? Maybe I have to put the Pascal into a different target
whose .o files flow into the main target which has C files?
